What got you started

Started out as a swimmer and after doing okay at school cross country my grade 7 teacher urged me to give triathlons a go.

How do you set your goals?

I'm always looking ahead and always challenging myself so I like to set short term and long term goals.

Do you have a word, mantra or motto that you live your life by?

'Just back yourself' it's a favourite from my squad

What is your biggest source of motivation?

Achieving my goals and making my parents and coaches proud.


Favourite place to train and why?

The Gold Coast for its beaches, the sun and great coffee shops.

Favourite training sessions?

The monogetty set ran at the Spit

Least favourite training sessions?

I don't have a least favourite but Monday morning swims are pretty tough!

What exercise do you absolutely dislike but do anyways because you know it works?

Paddles with pull band!!

Favourite song/s you workout to?

At the moment Miley Cyrus' 'We can't stop' or 'the climb' anything by Miley really.


What do you do to mentally train yourself?

I like to know as much as possible about the race so I'm prepared for the best and worst.

What's your best advice for dealing with mental negativity? How do you get out of your own head?

Don't overthink and just focus on what you need to do.


What is your favourite race?

Mooloolaba because of it beautiful scenery and great atmosphere.

When you go into competition, what's going through your head?

I'm usually just thinking about what I need to do and making sure I'm in the best possible position.

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

Just before the race when the heart beat music is playing.

Do you hear the crowd roaring when you're competing?

I can always pick my mums voice of the crowd and also my coach but not much else.

Best tip for race day?

Good Braids

What was the last piece of advice your coach said to you before you competed?

Just back yourself

My Grandparents, they have so much support for me and believe I could do anything!
