I can’t believe today is the day- the butterflies are definitely circling. 136 days ago I was named on the Australian team for the FINA World Junior Championships in Kazan, Russia and have been religiously marking of the days on my calendar since. This seemed like ages to prepare but it has gone so fast. My sport can evoke a wide range of emotions from pride, exhilaration and satisfaction, to fear, frustration and panic, often in a very short time span and I think I can honestly say I have experienced most of the positive emotions during my preparation. I have trained hard with my coaches, who have instilled a confidence and belief in me and I have been satisfied with the results.
I recently competed in the Diving NSW Metropolitan Championships at Sydney Olympic Park, trialling two new 10 m dives on the platform, and coming away with a Personal Best performance.
As I head off today I am excited – excited to be seeing my friends form interstate, excited to be travelling to a new country, excited to be taking on the world but most importantly excited to be representing my country.
Until I return to Australia,
