Goal Setting

Goal setting is critical to success and it is always great to see success. Setting goals no matter how big or small then reaching them is such a good feeling. Most people set goals as the New Year rolls in and I am probably no different but generally speaking I change my goals as needed. Some goals I set for myself , but most I set with my coach.

Goal setting is much like climbing a mountain. I am always thinking about the next step in my climb. I know reaching the top of the mountain requires short-term goal setting, being specific and most importantly focusing on execution and process. I always train with this question in the back of my mind. “How is what I’m doing today and right now going to help me when I’m in that big competition?”

Another thing I find really works is writing down my goals and putting them up where I can see them. Statistics show people who write down their goals have over an 80% higher success rate of achieving them, so I started writing my goals down a couple of years back. Seeing them in writing keeps me focused, and determined to reach them.

Above all my main goal this year is to continue to have fun cause let’s face it if you aren’t enjoying what you are doing then there won’t be any success. We have all heard the saying… “A goal without a plan is just a wish” so get writing those New Year goals AMANZI guys and girls.
